Dan is co-founder and a managing partner at CLA, and co-founder and board member of the Institute for Contemporary Leadership. He previously co-managed the leadership and organizational effectiveness practice at AlixPartners. He works as a trusted leadership advisor to CEOs and their teams, helping them to ensure they have the right players with the right habits and alignment on the right priorities. Prior to working exclusively with senior corporate leaders and their teams, Dan was a clinically trained trauma and forensic psychologist. He gained invaluable wisdom from working as an attending psychologist on New York Hospital’s world-renowned Burn Unit and in the New York City Court System.
He holds a PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of California Santa Barbara, and a BS in Psychology from the University of California at San Diego. He completed his post-doctoral studies at Cornell Medical College. He is a proud graduate of the Bronx High School of Science and devoted board member to the amazing non-profit Row New York. When he’s not working, he spends time with his family in New Jersey, works on refining his composting skills, and enjoys acting out his wife’s screenplays.
