Maura Koutoujian
Maura Koutoujian is a professional certified coach, speaker, educator, thought partner, and Positive Psychology practitioner. As a Senior Executive Coach at Mass General Brigham, Maura works with executive leadership and physician leaders. Maura has a love of words and is keenly interested in linguistics and its influence on one’s perception of the world and the resulting narratives. She focuses on a strengths-based approach, engaging in meaningful and transformative dialogue that promotes self-awareness, self-efficacy, and intrinsic motivation.
In addition to her love of words, Maura’s interests lie in mindfulness, presence, Buddhist psychology, and the philosophy of the American Transcendentalists. Her coaching style is inspired by the confluence of the science of positive psychology and ancient Buddhist wisdom.
Maura received a BFA from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design and trained in the Wellcoaches School of Coaching. She earned a Master’s degree in Applied Positive Psychology (MAPP) from the University of Pennsylvania, where she studied presence and mindfulness as mechanisms for developing rapport and mitigating bias in physician interprofessional engagements. As an assistant instructor of the University of Pennsylvania’s Humanities and Human Flourishing course, Maura continues to explore the Medical Humanities and Narrative Medicine as conduits to physician well-being.
