The Institute of Coaching recently established the “Coaching for Social Good” Award in the name of Ellen Shub, in honor of her commitment to social activism, the art of photography and photojournalism, and to the field of coaching. We are making the first call for nominations for this award, which will be presented for outstanding contributions to the research and/or practice of coaching which furthers social and climate justice, equity and peace.
Ellen was a beloved member of our team at the IOC and we continue to feel her warm and wise presence. While working at the IOC, Ellen connected the potential of coaching with the values she has held through her life - to contribute to human and social wellbeing. We also very much treasure Ellen’s beautiful photography from the annual conference on Coaching in Leadership and Healthcare and hundreds of attendees now have precious photos, as memories of the event and the friendships created. At the IOC we remember Ellen with her wisdom, her kindness and gentleness as well as dedication to making the world a more just, and safer place.
For the Award we encourage you to nominate scholars and practitioners in coaching, whose work has contributed to social good globally and nationally - for example by making coaching more accessible to all groups, by reducing inequalities, by empowering vulnerable populations, and by supporting environmental sustainability and justice.
Decisions will be made by a Committee including IOC Directors and the Scientific Advisory Council. Please make your nominations by June 15, 2021 and send them to [email protected]
The award recipient will be invited to present a public Webinar to the Institute of Coaching and will be presented with the award during our Fall Conference.
