  • November in the U.S. is a time for gratitude and reflection as we count our blessings for weathering (hopefully) the worst of the pandemic, and give thanks for the incredible science and workforce who brought us effective vaccines and treatments for Covid-19.

We are also incredibly grateful for the wonderful support team at the IOC, McLean Hospital, and Harvard Medical School who made it possible for us to successfully hold our first virtual coaching conference with over 750 registrants!

We may still be basking in the post-conference glow, but we are not resting on our laurels. We remain committed to engaging in leading edge research and education to further the evidence-based foundations of the burgeoning coaching profession.

With this in mind, we are grateful to the International Coaching Federation (ICF) for their financial commitment to advancing coaching science. Their 5-year gift enables us to reopen the research grant program with the goal of awarding $100,000 in annual support. We are also grateful to the coaching scholars on our Scientific Advisory Council who provide expert review of the proposals, mentorship and support of new and emerging scholars. If you have a research idea, we encourage you to learn more about how a grant might support your work.

And, our upcoming webinar will explore a less-known but important domain of diversity and inclusion for coaching: neuro-diversity. Our presenter, Lana Jelenjev, chairperson of the Neurodiversity Foundation, will provide an overview on the science and evolution of this important subject, which accounts for the range of differences in individual brain function and behavioral traits. It has been reported that up to 17 percent of the population have been diagnosed with a neurodivergent condition. We hope you will join us to learn about this important emerging domain at the intersection of science and well-being.

Finally, our most important deep bow of gratitude, however, is to you, our IOC affiliates, fellows, and sponsors from all over the globe. Together, we continue to expand the science and the impact of coaching in the world.

  • In this 1 hour session, Lana Jelenjev, chairperson of the Neurodiversity Foundation will give an introduction on neurodiversity and the importance of shifting perspectives from disorders to divergence. "Neurodiversity" accounts for the range of differences in individual brain function and behavioral traits.  It has been reported that up to 17 percent of the population have been diagnosed with a neurodivergent condition....

  • Twenty years of research have shaped the way we use imagery to change human behavior. But, unfortunately, many coaches confuse imagery with visualization. We will cover this critical distinction and the other key touchpoints in the Imagery Coaching journey, including the power of mental contrasting and elaboration theory combined with motivational interviewing, mindfulness, performance psychology, and team building.  ...

  • University-based mentorship programs have been associated with career enhancement, personal development, stress reduction, resilience promotion, and kindness, to name only a few benefits. Promoting strategies for stress-reduction and resilience-enhancement among graduate students can support their success in many areas of their lives and this is especially important in the current climate. There are unique stressors associated with being a graduate student; namely research funding, research projects, teaching assistantships, completing course work, and the pressure to publish. Such stressors can lead to negative health consequences including burnout and suppression of the immune system and might deplete students’ resilience.

We are dedicated to developing people by transforming the way they think so they may experience authentic, sustainable change and growth in their work and personal lives while being contagiously engaging and inspiring to those they lead. We've observed, and science has proven, that transformed thinking leads to transformed actions.

Authenticity addresses our belief that truth and transparency are the gateways to the  transformation organizations seek.

Sustainability is about our long-term, counter-cultural approach to growth. Breaking patterns and creating new ones takes time and effort, but oh, is it worth it!

Change and Growth are because we believe that every human being is innately designed to get better. Old dogs can and should learn new tricks. We help people tangibly change and grow to get where it is they want to go in business and in life.
