  • Coaching Report: September 2022

    Back to School. Think Different.

Curated by: IOC Team

  • It’s back to school time – moving our community of coaches into another rich year of learning and growth at IOC. If you can’t join us in Barcelona on September 15/16, don’t miss our September webinars.

Our IOC spotlight turns to thought leaders who will dive into how leaders and coaches can think differently about power, unconventional thinking, multi-culturalism, and vertical development.

While the concept of power can trigger all sorts of reactions, Stanford professor and author, Jeffrey Pfeffer, created a rubric to ground us and stimulate unconventional thinking. Rooted firmly in social science research, Dr. Pfeffer’s book, “7 Rules to Power”  provides coaches (and leaders) a tool for increasing their influence and ability to get things done. In his September 7 webinar (and in a follow-up September 21 LinkedIn Live) coaches will learn about the “7 rules,” and how thinking unconventionally changes the game.

Philippe Rosinski, MCC, MS from Stanford, and a pioneer of intercultural and global coaching, shows in his September 22 webinar how going beyond current cultural limitations improves creativity and impact by turning multi-culturalism, cultural differences, into a source of richness.

Stay tuned - we are delighted to announce our first webinar-seminar – a series of educational webinars! Facilitated by IOC fellow and thought leader Jan Rybeck, the webinar series will show how vertical leadership development builds agility and the capacity to see, understand, empathize, and respond in a greater variety of ways and in response to a wider range of situations.

Coaches and leaders are continually reminded to upgrade our ability to navigate unprecedented complexity and stress, while tapping into diversity, and meeting every moment with strength and resilience. Our September events will elevate your ability to think different.

  • Creativity opens doors to powerful dialogue, greater awareness, and effective solutions. When coupled with coaching, creative approaches enhance the coaching experience and help clients see themselves and their situations in a new light. This panel-style webinar will highlight three different approaches to introducing creativity into the coaching space - through the integration of music, dance, and photography. Our panelists will share the skills and strategies they use with clients and how similar approaches can be modified and adapted for coaches, from executive coaching to health and wellness coaching. As so beautifully stated by Judith Jamison, "Learn the craft of knowing how to open your heart and turn on your creativity....
