Join us for a transformative webinar with Dr. Hany Shoukry as he explores his innovative Coaching for Emancipation (CFE) framework. This approach, deeply rooted in critical theory and developed through years of research and practice in challenging social contexts, is designed to empower individuals facing oppressive environments. Emancipatory coaching illuminates the pathways for clients trapped within oppressive systems, helping them reclaim agency, reshape their narratives and beliefs, and act to liberate their lives.

In this session, Dr. Shoukry will delve into the key dynamics of oppression and its profound psychological impacts. He will illustrate how coaches can play a pivotal role in helping clients move from a place of powerlessness to liberation, addressing both the internal and external dimensions of emancipation. This webinar is ideal for professional coaches aiming to deepen their practice and incorporate social change into personal development.

Key Takeaways:

  • Reframe coaching as a social process, navigate the ethical complexities, and chart a path to embed a critical and emancipatory perspective in your practice.
  • Understand the impact of oppression on individuals’ psychological and social well-being, and explore the phases of the emancipatory journey.
  • Discover the enabling pathways of emancipation—from empowerment, to naming oppression,  retelling narratives, building hope, renewing beliefs, and taking actions of resistance.
  • Gain practical tools for guiding clients to go through the journey, internally and in the world.

Meet Our Speaker

Dr. Hany Shoukry brings a wealth of experience from both the academic and practical realms of coaching. One of the earliest voices to advance a critical perspective within the coaching field, Dr. Shoukry has spent over a decade contributing to our understanding of how coaching intersects with social dynamics, particularly through his pioneering Coaching for Emancipation (CFE) framework. His research investigates how coaching both influences and is influenced by its social context. The CFE groundbreaking approach combines insights from education, psychotherapy, social work, and theatre to support individuals in breaking free from oppressive conditions.
