Sandown Business School is a hybrid business school run by professionals with over 50 years of experience. Through the Professional Academy for Coaching and Professional Academy for Leadership, professionals, leaders and students develop, enhance and master their inter and intra-personal coaching and leadership skills.

The school’s philosophy is based on the belief that everyone has the right to pursue knowledge with knowledge being explored through three key methodologies: Science, Artistry and Systems expressed through Neuroscience, Psychology and Ontology.

They also build on the Alchemy archetype’s values which underpin their training methods, supporting a belief in endless possibilities enabled through curiosity, catalytic action, innovation and compassionate vision for self and the world. This underlying approach aligns with their coaching approach.

Teaching is based on a spiral learning curriculum which has three key principles (1) Cyclical learning, (2) Increased Depth on each iteration, and (3) Learning by building on prior knowledge.

Key concepts are presented repeatedly throughout the curriculum, but with deepening layers of complexity, or in different applications. As each of the layers become internally activated and accepted, the learner can move on to the next layer, building their skill, confidence and ultimately – mastery. Sandown Business School also take a person-centered approach to adult learning, with programs that are experiential. Reflective practice to deepen self-awareness and recognize limiting beliefs. There is also feedforward from peers and tutors with core elements embodying a coaching approach.

Sandown Business School use the phrase ‘healthy coaches - coach healthy. This phrase comes from their strong desire to support students from the inside – out. They are not just training ‘coaching skills’ – instead they are supporting their students to recognize who they are as a coach and what is their ‘signature fingerprint’ as a coach. This is all in aid of supporting the student to achieve greater confidence, authenticity and ultimately fulfill their purpose(s).
