Alice Obermiller has spent the last 16 years coaching and advising students and alumni with the Chicago Booth School of Business. Currently a Senior Coach in the Full-time Program’s Leadership Development Office, she’s led curriculum on public speaking, interpersonal communications, conflict management, and business ethics. Alice also oversees the program’s experiential simulations including content on crisis management, entrepreneurial selling, and executive decision making. She is also responsible for leadership programming for the University’s Collegiate Scholars Program, as well as aspects of curriculum for the University of Chicago Law School.

Prior to 2005, Alice spent 5 years as the Associate Director of the Career Development Office working with Chicago Booth’s Part-time student population, including Executive MBAs globally, and Chicago Booth Alumni worldwide. Her breadth of experience working with this population covered all industries, fields, and levels, from associates and first time managers, to CEOs.

Alice’s background also includes extensive corporate experience, including 6.5 years as a Regional Operations Manager for a Silicon Valley based technology company, a Fortune 500 insurance company, start-up education and energy technology companies, and the University of Chicago Hospitals. 

Alice holds a B.A. in Education from Purdue University, an M.S. in Organizational Development with Honors from Loyola University, and has completed qualitative coursework and research on Organizational Climate as part of her doctoral studies in Management and Sustainable Systems Design at Case Western Reserve University.

In addition to Alice’s professional experience, she’s worked on sustainable development and microfinance projects in East Africa with the Global Alliance for Africa, which included significant time coaching and advising micro-enterprises in the field.
