Alice Obermiller is a leadership development expert and thought leader with 20 years’ experience coaching and developing leaders through strategic and applied learning. She is currently a Senior Instructional Designer in Leadership Development for Elevance Health, where she moved in September 2021 from the University of Notre Dame’s Mendoza College of Business. At Notre Dame, Alice was the Director of Experiential Learning and Leadership Development for Graduate Business Programs. In this role, she had oversight for experiential learning and leadership development programming for all graduate business students (EMBA, MBA, and Specialized Masters). Alice taught in the College’s Women in Leadership Certificate course offered by Mendoza Executive Education, leading the content on Leveraging Networks and Building Strong Relationships.

Prior to joining Notre Dame in 2017, Alice worked for the University of Chicago Booth School of Business in MBA leadership development for 17.5 years focused on facilitated MBA learning experiences and simulations, as well as content in conflict management, personality, group process and team dynamics. Her experience at the University of Chicago included leadership programming for the Law School, the Pritzker School of Medicine, the Harris School of Public Policy, and the University’s Collegiate Scholars Program.

Prior to academia, Alice spent 13 years in the corporate sector working for Fortune 500 technology and insurance companies, startup enterprises in education and energy technology, as well as healthcare.

Alice is currently an Adjunct Professor of Leadership Development at Loyola University Chicago, where she received her M.S. in Organizational Development with Honors. She also holds a B.A. in Education from Purdue University. Alice is a Certified Master Coach, a member of the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC).

In addition to her professional experience, Alice serves on the board of the Global Alliance for Africa in Chicago, and has provided support to sustainable development and microfinance projects in East Africa, including significant time coaching and advising micro-enterprises in the field.
