I hold a doctorate (EdD) in Child Development and Special Education from Columbia University, Teachers College.  I served as a Parent Educator and Research Assistant at the Early Childhood Development Center in New York City and taught preschool at a facility serving children with developmental challenges.

Five years ago, I returned to the world of Early Childhood Education and non-profit organizations after nine years as the Executive Director of the Fordham Law School Corporate Law Center.   For three years, I was a volunteer Research Assistant at the Communication Sciences Lab, working with Mothers and Infants, at The New York State Psychiatric Institute (Columbia University Medical Center).

I am currently a volunteer with the following organizations:

  • FJK Dance, Inc, a contemporary non-profit dance company (https://www.fjkdance.org) , Board Member and Director of Educational and Cultural Outreach.
  • NGO Committee on Migration, Subcommittee on Migrant and Refugee Children (https://ngo-migration.org/task-force/refugee-children/). An advocacy organization championing early childhood development to help those most at-risk, both internationally and in New York City.
  • The Amal Alliance (https://www.amalalliance.org/) an NGO dedicated to empowering displaced children through social development programs at refugee camps and informal settlements around the globe.

  • In Fall of 2020, I completed Life Coach training with The Human Potential Institute and in June 2021, I received ACC accreditation with the International Coaching Federation.  My goal is to work as a Life Coach in the non-profit sector utilizing my child development background with families at risk.
