Bill Auxier, Ph.D. specializes in rural health leadership development through consulting, coaching, training and research.  He is experienced working with rural health leaders across the country through his company, Auxier Group, to improve their organizations through more effective leadership, cultural transformation and strategic plan development.

Bill is also Program Director of NRHA’s Rural Hospital Certification Programs for CEOs, CNOs and CFOs, creator and co-host of the Rural Health Leadership Radio podcast, and author of numerous books and articles.  He is also a professor in the graduate school at the University of Maryland Global Campus.

Bill started his career in healthcare as a nurse’s aide at a rural hospital.  From there, he worked his way up to become the CEO of a surgical device manufacturer with global distribution. 

Bill and his wife Elise have been married 37 years, have 2 adult children who are married with children of their own, providing the joy of 5 grandchildren.
