Denise is the owner of Corey Coaching and Consulting, a firm specializing in entrepreneurs and small business owners. She has extensive experience consulting with businesses on employee training, marketing, and financial reporting and has recently combined this with business coaching acquired through the completion of the North Carolina State University's Business Coaching Certification program.

 

Denise has undertaken 160 hours of course work through the N.C. State program and has documented 100 hours of private coaching. A large section of her coaching practice has been with business startups, however, she is also actively working established businesses. In addition, Denise is coaching clients through career changes. Denise expects to become an Associate Certified Coach  through the International Coach Federation in early 2016. 

 

Denise has a B.A. degree from the University of Delaware where she was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. She was awarded her MBA from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill in 1982. She joined Bank of America after graduation and spent 15 years with that bank and Central Carolina Bank in Commercial Lending. In addition to banking, Denise enjoyed working for Fleet Feet Sports, focused on educating, training, mentoring and coaching new franchisees towards successful store ownership.

 

Denise is on the Board of Directors for Johnson Service Corps. where she serves as the Development Committee Chair and is a consistent volunteer at Porch. Denise is also an interviewer for MBA@UNC since September 2015.
