I began a fundraising career later in my life. The opportunity to  raise matching funds for a new program for a local nonprofit was intriguing; a telemedicine network. It is hard to believe that in 2012, a network that could deliver medical care to rural Alabamians was not as common as it is now. I accepted the challenge and raised  the matching funds to build the network; I have continued in this position and raised funds for many different  projects.The leadership classes and discussions prove to be invaluable in this profession, which is simply interacting with people.
