Jennifer Thomas serves is the Founder and Director of the Boston Consulting Group’s (BCG’s) Leadership Coaching offering. We focus on programmatic coaching to support senior leaders and leadership teams through large-scale change and transformation efforts. In this context, we help leaders to navigate through the change, achieve their highest priority business outcomes, and set the foundation for the organization's long term success. We also specialize in helping leaders to be more adaptive, resilient and inclusive, in order to remain competitive in today's fast-changing world.
In her role as Director of Leadership Coaching, Jennifer facilitates all coaching engagements across North America, and oversees those in Europe and South America. She has built an extensive cadre of leadership coaches, comprised of senior executives spanning nearly all industry and functional areas, allowing her to customize a coaching offering that matches each leader with the right coach. She also co-designed and delivers an intensive internal BCG coaching certification program to ensure a consistency of coaching approach and philosophy, focused on helping leaders to achieve their personal and organizational business objectives.
Jennifer brings 20+ years of experience developing and coaching C-suite executives, senior leaders, consultants and non-profit leaders. As a coach, Jennifer works with individuals in the areas of building and leading high-performing teams, navigating and mobilizing organizations through transformational change, stakeholder management, strategy and vision setting, effective problem solving, and influence/communication. She combines her business expertise with "compassionate challenge" to help leaders to "show up differently," achieving sustained and meaningful change in both behaviors and mindsets.
Previously, Jennifer served as BCG's North America Regional Director of Learning and Development. In this capacity, she developed thousands of consultants on core consulting skills, as well as management and leadership effectiveness. Within BCG, she built and led a team of internal coaches to provide 1:1 support to our consulting staff. More broadly, Jennifer worked closely with senior leadership to shape BCG's approach to best-in class people development. Jennifer was also a Principal at BCG, leading large-scale projects for Fortune 100 clients that included strategy setting, post-merger integration, process implementation and enablement. Prior to BCG, she worked as a consultant at Price Waterhouse's Office of Government services, working with HUD, FDA and other government organizations.
Jennifer earned her Mastered Business Coaching certification from Meyler Campbell in London. She is a certified business coach with the Worldwide Association of Business Coaches and a fellow with the Harvard University of Coaching. Jennifer also received her MBA from Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, and BA from Williams College magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, with majors in Economics and Psychology.
