I am a Family Nurse Practitioner, retired. Personal life coaching is my second career. Before I went to nursing school, I majored in wildlife biology. My love and admiration for the wildness of the natural world have mingled with my deep dive into the mysterious world of health and healing. I have been involved in the health care profession for over 40 years as a Family Nurse Practitioner, author, educator, speaker, and mentor. I am experienced in conventional, complementary, and alternative health care modalities.

Wildlife Biology and Nursing, combined with a 55-year meditation practice, and postgraduate study at Iliff Divinity School and Harvard Divinity School, have initiated me into the sacredness and tenacity of the natural world and the human spirit. The magic created by that mingling continues to guide my personal and my professional life every day. Throughout my career, I have been a leader in the evolution of integrative nursing and medicine.

Today, I am a professional life coach seasoned by 20 years of coaching experience and my love for life-long learning. I enjoy working with clients who have come face-to-face with decisions, transitions, dilemmas, and support the desire to heal and grow into the next version of themselves. I value cultural understanding, the energy of love, the power of compassion and the dignity of gentleness.

I believe personal life coaching is a viable, sought after service that nurtures everyone interested in actualizing their highest potential. Coaching allows me to be of service to my vision of health and healing for others, and our planet. I do what I do today because I believe in the goodness of life. I believe in the power of love. I trust the human spirit. I believe in possibilities, and I believe in impossibilities. I do what I do today because it is fun. I learn something new every day.

I know I can’t do it alone, nor do I want to. I know that when we get clear about what we do, and why we do it, we can move forward together with beauty, dignity, and grace. That is why I value my membership with the International Association of Coaching and as a fellow with the Institute of Coaching.

My undergraduate degree is from Boston University, Boston Massachusetts. I have a master’s degree in Primary Care for Individuals, Families and Communities from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, Denver, Colorado. I did postgraduate study with the Iliff School of Theology, Denver, Colorado and Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts. My initial life coach certification is with The Fearless Living Institute.

Besides respectable academic achievements, coach training, coach experience, leadership, and tenure, my most precious achievement is having raised two beautiful babies into caring, loving, and adventurous adults. I am a grandmother of 5. As a grandmother and an elder in the 21st century, I am willing to be fully present both personally and professionally.

I care about the future for all children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and beyond. My passion for witnessing the beauty and mystery of life, healthy healing, and the promotion of peace and kindness are integral to my daily life.

Martha  is certified by the International Association of Coaching as an IAC-Mastery Coach (IAC-MC) and is a contributor to the IAC newsletter VOICE, as well as the Huffington Post. She is a Master Certified Fearless Living Coach, Mentor Coach, and Certified Fearless Living Trainer.
