Dr. Miranda Fernande Walichowski is a Professional Certified Coach through the International Coaching Federation, ICF. She is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Educational Psychology at Texas A&M University.  She has a Doctorate and Master’s Degrees in Educational Psychology, from Texas A&M University, College Station. She earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Maritime Business Administration, from Texas A&M University at Galveston.

Miranda is on a research team studying team-effectiveness, team growth-mindset, and team creativity. She has developed and taught graduate-level coursework on coaching: Foundations in Professional and Personal Development Coaching and Coaching Groups and Teams for Texas A&M University.

Currently, Dr. Walichowski coaches at the Doerr Institute for New Leaders at Rice University. Through the Doerr Institute, she has facilitated Catalyst modules on Embracing Conflict. She has been selected as one of five coaches from Doerr that piloted leadership development through coaching at the United States Military Academy West Point in Fall 2019.

In addition, Dr. Walichowski developed the MiraNous Institute for Leaders in Education (MILE).   MILE has provided leadership development through group and individual coaching as part of the Accelerated Preparation of Leaders for Underserved Schools (A-Plus) grant, component 5 (Turnaround). A-Plus is a project funded by the U.S. Department of Education for $13.36 million to build instructional capacity of educational leaders who work with diverse learners (grant PI is Dr. Beverly Irby.)

When Miranda teaches, presents, provides training, or delivers keynotes on coaching for human development, performance, and leadership, without fail, people will approach her with at least one of three things: (1) sharing that they have been transformed by the experience (2) asking how they can continue to develop their coaching skills (or their internal landscape) to serve others and themselves in their current professional and personal contexts, or (3) asking how they can also become coaches. She considers it a blessing to share her passion and then to see how her passion resonates and inspires others. Dr. Walichowski admires and enjoys working with those who respond to the call to “sharpen and refine themselves to become instruments of greater, meaningful contribution.”

On a personal note, Miranda is married to John Walichowski, MiraNous Business Manager, and they have five children. Miranda is constantly seeking two things in life, growth in all areas and the energy needed to refine and sharpen herself as an instrument of meaningful contribution for her family, clients, and students. This has lead her to a new journey as a competitive powerlifter. Powerlifting appealed to her because the sport requires the development of a strong mind needed to conquer limiting beliefs and fears.
