As a former MD, Trading and Brand Director who has spent his career within large corporate organisations, Andy
Adcock has extensive experience leading change programmes, driving profitable growth and developing large
teams. As a business development and retail expert he has worked with leadership teams to support business
transformation, cultural change and improved ways of working. He has advised and coached CEO’s, executives,
senior teams and emerging talent across a variety of business areas, including manufacturing, retail and online.
Andy is passionate about people, product and results, underpinned with a focus on targets, accountability and
positive leadership behaviours.
Andy brings almost 30 years of experience leading commercial operations and running large multi-discipline teams.
He has a proven track record of enhancing performance by rigorous improvement of operational practices. He has
operated within large multi-channel companies and has broad experience in business transformation, agile working
and leadership development. Andy has worked in a diversity of business cultures, both internationally and within
the UK: with experience of both the highly structured, to the ‘flat’ and empowered. As MD of M&S Food he led the
business to record profit levels and 3 time winners of UK retailer of the year. At both Asda and M&S he also led
significant cost management and change programmes resulting in multiples of £100m savings.
He joined BCG as Senior Advisor in 2019 and has since been involved in multiple projects all over Europe, the US
and in Australia. As a member of the Consumer and Retail Practice, he has supported BCG and clients on a range of
projects from supply chain, through commercial infrastructure, to private label. Andy advises and coaches on
strategy, business development, innovation, transformation and ways of working.
Andy is an advisor supporting the boards of retail, manufacturing, and hospitality businesses. He is a board advisor
at Tessiant, Trusted Data Analytics and 2SFG, along with running the advisory and coaching business he founded. He
has previously served on the charity boards of Movement to Work and Grocery Aid.
Andy received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of South Wales. He has also completed Leadership and
Strategic Management Programmes at Manchester University Business School and has certification in Leadership
Coaching, Facilitation and Negotiation
