I have more than 25 years of experience working with nonprofits, foundations, and individual donors. I founded The Krehely Project in 2016 to provide coaching and strategy services to help leaders and organizations make the world a more just, compassionate, and inclusive place.

My first job at a nonprofit was in 1995, when I worked at the Back Mountain Memorial Library (in Dallas, PA). That’s when I first learned how nonprofit organizations and their supporters can be a force for good. Since then, I’ve had one experience after another going deeper into organizational strategy and development, with a growing understanding that institutions are nothing without their people.

Before launching a full-time coaching and consulting practice, I most recently worked at the Roosevelt Institute, which houses an economic policy think tank, a progressive policy leadership development program, and the 501(c)(3) partner to the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum (which is part of the federal government's National Archives and Records Administration). During my nearly five years of full-time employment at Roosevelt, I served as the Executive Vice President, the Acting President and CEO, and the Chief Operating Officer.

Before Roosevelt, I was the Senior Vice President for Domestic Policy at the Center for American Progress (CAP), where I oversaw 10 policy areas, including family economic security, criminal justice, and immigration. Earlier I had worked at CAP as the Director and Vice President of the LGBTQ Policy Research and Communications Project, a department I founded in 2009 and which played a key role in advancing LGBTQ equality during the Obama Administration.

I have also held leadership positions at the Human Rights Campaign, the National Committee for Responsive Philanthropy, the Movement Advancement Project, and other organizations. I have served as a consultant to a wide range of nonprofit organizations and funders, and as a coach to many organizational executives and leaders.

I have a Master of Public Policy from Georgetown University and a BA in English from King’s College (Pennsylvania). In December 2022 I completed a year-long coach training course and I recently earned my ACC credential from the International Coaching Federation.

I live in Provincetown, MA and frequently travel to New York City and Washington, DC. My hobbies include running (and buying new running shoes), reading, and photography.
