Since 2011, he is working as an Assistant Professor Psychiatry at UMass Medical School and recently joined Harvard Medical School system in Department of Mental Health Brockton Multiservice Centre.

He says that "Pursuing a career in Psychiatry for me is like carrying my "Cinderella" to the "Royal road to unconsciousness"-a dream come true. Psychiatry a dynamic field, blend of Arts and Science but unfortunately it has been treated as a Cinderella of Medicine since eon by associating stigma to the Mental illness. This challenged my empathic nature by creating "Festinger’s dissonance" and I devoted myself to explore the "Maginot Line "of people`s preconceived notions about Psychiatry and in doing so I fell in love with this Cinderella of Medicine

I believe that Psychiatric illnesses are analogous to "rain drops" falling on different textures , as the rain drops produce different sounds when they fall on different textures like, glass, wood, plastic, desert sand etc ,same is the infinite variety of disease manifestations when they test someone’s psychological make up/ego-strength"

In his journey to the discovery of human mind he first acquired extensive experience in Neurology to have a sound theoretical launching pad of amalgamation of milieu of brain at cellular level. He did his M.B.B.S from Dow Medical College, Karachi in 1994 and then worked in Aga Khan University hospital Karachi before moving to United Kingdom to get further training for the Membership of Royal College of Psychiatrists

He has also completed his Fellowships in Psychoanalysis and Addiction Psychiatry from P.C.O.P, Philadelphia and University of Massachusetts, Worcester.

He values the in-depth understanding of individuals in Psychiatry for providing comprehensive care and believes that through Psycho-dynamically-informed treatment model and addressing the Addiction Psychiatry facet, which is almost ubiquitous in co-occurring disorders with mental illness, the dynamics behind the patient’s needs can be understood to effectively reduce their longitudinal sufferings by modifying their prognosis.
